KidZ At Heart USA Team visits South Africa

We had the wonderful privilege of having a KidZ at Heart team all the way from America here in South Africa for 10 days. Pat McWhorter and Way and Gean Stevens helped us with various training events, as well as doing a kids event in Katlehong, presenting a lesson at a local youth group and preaching at Melville Kruis church where a lot of the UJ (University of Johannesburg) students attend.

They also spent some time with the South African trainers to encourage them, train them in new teaching material and planning and praying about the future of KidZ at Heart. During the training sessions we experienced how God transformed the way many people still think about children’s ministry. We were excited to see their new zeal to minister to children more effectively. Another highlight, without a doubt, was to see how the lessons they taught us were applied to the children in Katlehong and at a local church. God just did some amazing things!

Pat, Way & Gean also spent a morning encouraging the staff of Walk Thru the Bible and various pastors and youth group leaders. It was good and uplifting since so many leaders are caught up in very busy schedules and need time to re-focus and align with God.

During their tight programme they made time to do some sight-seeing, eat some traditional South African meals and visit an elephant sanctuary where they got up close and personal with these huge animals!

We are truly thankful for this wonderful opportunity and we are looking forward to many more similar events in the future. Above all we pray that the people who attend our training will continue to be equipped and encouraged to teach children about Christ.
