Why Community Development?
It is easy to feel overwhelmed by the extent of poverty and suffering in our society, especially as it affects those most vulnerable– the children. “What can I do to make a real difference?” is a question often asked by many of us who care about the future of our society. The temptation is to support short-term initiatives visible in the media: collecting blankets for winter, toys for Christmas, or ingredients for soup kitchens once a week. In reality, as noble as these efforts may be, they offer only temporary relief and in fact entrench the dependence of those in need.
SEED Strategy
The SEED Strategy aims to build a more sustainable response through the local Church, so that whole communities develop capacity to provide care for their vulnerable children.
Our Statement of Faith
We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
Our Vision & Values
ttt4c equips local churches to meet the needs of vulnerable children through sustainable community initiatives.
Our History
The vision of turn the tide 4 children (ttt4c) began in May of 2003 during a Turn the Tide broadcast event when churches in southern Africa were challenged to rise up and address the issue of HIV?AIDS and the growing number of orphans resulting from this pandemic. From the commitments made during this event, ttt4c was born!
Non-profit organisation
Turn the Tide 4 Children is a non-profit organisation incorporated in South Africa under Section 21.
