Martin Deacon is the founder of turn the tide 4 children. Martin is currently the International Director of Turn the Tide, of which turn the tide 4 children forms a part. Martin graduated from the University of Johannesburg and Dallas Theological Seminary. Martin is an international faculty member of the Haggai Institute and lectured at the University of Johannesburg and Baptist Theological College in Johannesburg.Martin and Anneli have been married for 20 years. Elvis Mvulane is the General Manager of turn the tide 4 children. He studied a B Com at the University of Johannesburg between 1993 and 1995 and went on to study a Diploma and a Bachelor of Theology Degree at the Nazarene Theological College and Canadian College for another four years between 1997 and 2001. Elvis registered for an honours degree with University of Johannesburg between 2003 and 2005 and is currently a master’s degree student in New Testament Leadership with the South African Theological Seminary. Elvis is married to Susan and they have a son of 9, Cebolenkosi, and a daughter of 4, Buhlebenkosi. Says Elvis: “As a pastor and leader I want to minister to leaders who have had the same challenge I had of being largely irrelevant from the pulpit, to the real needs around me. I was trying to copy models and methods that do not originate from within the needs of our communities. Alpheus Maphosa is the Administrative Co-ordinator of turn the tide 4 children. This role includes all the financial administration and accounts. Alpheus joined the Walk Thru the Bible family in February 1998. He is single and is committed to serving the Lord. Alpheus enjoys travelling. Lynnette Stander serves as a turn the tide 4 children coach in the expanded SEEDS model. Lynnette trained as teacher and taught at primary school before she became a children’s evangelist. Currently she also lectures at the Full Gospel Church College. In 1994 she was trained as a Kids in The Book instructor with Walk Thru the Bible and in 1996 joined the full-time staff. Charlotte Moore has served as a missionary in South Africa for 10 years, the past six of which have been with turn the tide 4 children. Her passion is to equip national church leaders to be more effective in ministering to the children in their communities. As a result, she recently joined KidZ At Heart International as the Director for KidZ-Africa, in partnership with Walk Thru the Bible and ttt4c, to bring more focused training for churches to help them reach and teach kids for Christ in their own culture. Charlotte has an M.A. in Cross-Cultural Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary and is currently in a Doctor of Ministry program at the seminary. Two years ago, Charlotte’s life changed dramatically when the Lord led her to take in an abandoned baby as her foster child.
