Donation of Warm Blankets – Golang
One of the privileges of being part of the work of ttt4c, is to experience the blessings that flows from the heart and hands of other people. We received a kind donation of 300 blankets and we would like to share with you this heart warming experience…
Driving to Zandspruit on the west side of Johannesburg, you pass a busy market area packed with makeshift roadside stalls. Tiny tin shacks line the dusty road and litter decorates the way to Emthonjeni centre. Turning into the centre grounds, you can be forgiven for thinking you have suddenly changed time zones! The yard is clean and full of blossoming shrubs, and a stately thatched farmhouse stands proudly before you.
In the back garden is a fenced area housing the brand new Golang Pre-school. Two brightly painted containers are the main buildings and a lovely central play area gives the children hours of safe fun in the sun. A well-stocked library and a small office are in one container, while the second container serves as the classroom for 20 children. Although the Pre-school only opened in April 2008, the bright little faces greet visitors confidently with, “Good morning. How are you?” – the teachers make a point of only speaking English to the children during school hours.
Many thanks to one of our donors that enabled ttt4c to bless the children with a gift of 2 blankets each which was delivered on Thursday 7th August 2008. The blankets were quite heavy for some little people to carry, but they will certainly keep them very warm during these chilly nights!
